Born in Seville in 1976, Fahmi Alqhai studied with Ventura Rico at Seville's Conservatory, Paolo Pandolfo at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis and Vittorio Ghielmi at Luganos's Conservatory.

He usually plays all over the world with some of the most important early music ensembles, such as Hespèrion XXI (Jordi Savall), Il Suonar Parlante (Vittorio Ghielmi), Mala Punica (Pedro Memelsdorff), Orphenica Lyra (José Miguel Moreno), More Hispano (Vicente Parrilla) and Mudejar (Begoña Olavide). He has taught at the IX & X Muestras de música antigua del Castillo de Aracena (Huelva, Spain).

As a soloist he is currently working with harpsichordist Alberto Martínez, with whom has just recorded J.S. Bach's viola da gamba sonatas for Arsis, touring all over Spain to a great public & critic acclaim. In 1999 he founded the ensemble Accademia del Piacere along with soprano Mariví Blasco.
Fahmi Alqhai has recorded for labels such as Alia Vox, Glossa, Arsis, Winter&Winter, Tactus and Enchiriadis.
